What is MyoFascial Release?

Myofascial Release is a very effective and safe form of manual therapy.

It is a very slow stroke that maintains sustained pressure for a long period of time, aiming to release adhesions that form in the connective tissue.

Quite often not much oil or balm is used, and movement of the limbs or joints are used.

MFR  originated from the 'Structural Integrators' namely Rolfing 'Ida Rolf' in the 70's and has been growing in popularity ever since.

Myofascial Release is a very effective technique to reduce pain and improve range of movement in joints.

Does Sports Massage utilize Myofascial Release techniques Yes in most cases Sports Massage Therapists definitely use Myofascial Release techniques (MFR) to reduce pain and improve movement.

A Sports Massage Therapist will generally follow a similar process when treating a client, such as conducting a thorough assessment to decide which technique to use etc.  In our experience, we always use Myofascial Release Techniques, because they are so powerful and effective.

It is a powerful and valuable tool that most Therapists use to get the result.

If you suffer from Pain in your body, be it muscle, tendon, ligament, (soft tissue) or even the joints, this technique may be helpful to you.

If you are suffering from Myofascial Pain Syndrome, it may be worth conducting some research to learn more about the syndrome and what to do that can assist you with it.

In our years in the clinic, we have seen many a person suffering from this syndrome, with outstanding results.  Each person is different and unique, but in most cases, there has been a dramatic improvement in one's wellbeing and pain reduction.
