Remedial Massage Courses
There are many Remedial Massage Courses available nowadays, most TAFEs and Universities offer the Diploma in Remedial Massage and in some cases the Advanced Diploma.
Typically the course will run between 12 and 18 months and at the end of it you will receive eligibility to join an association which enables you to offer Private Health Fund rebates via HICAPS.
Many courses cover very similar content, from anatomy, to ethics, duty of care, various techniques such as, myofascial release, deep tissue, muscle energy techniques, active release, dry needling, correctives exercises, pnf stretching and many more.
Most course cover the business aspect as well, how to start your own business, clinic, or practice, how to rebook clients, how to treatment plan, conduct a thorough assessment, take client history, document your findings and best practices associated.
If you are looking for a Remedial Massage Course, take your time, shop around, attend open days, ask questions, meet with the lecturers, do your research before deciding to study.
Some courses start around 10,000 dollars, where as some can be much more, so it really depends on what you are looking for and what you want to do with the qualification. If you want to eventually go on to study Physiotherapy, or move to Myotherapy it will definitely help to know where you see yourself in a few years from now.
