Do you sit at a desk for large periods of the day? If so you are not alone, from a very young age we are forced to sit in chairs for long periods of time and for many of us it continues well into Adult life with the desk.
As a result of sitting for long periods of time, our postures are impacted and the symptoms are pain. The point is we are not designed to sit in chairs for long periods of time, whether it is at school, the office, on the train, in the car, at the dinner table or on the couch, we sit so much to the point that posture related issues and injuries are plaguing humanity.
Simply put sitting kills your back! You might have heard the saying 'sitting is the new smoking'. I kind of get where they are coming from, the amount of people that I have seen with Shoulder Pain, Mid Back Pain, Thoracic Pain, Neck Pain, Head Aches in Brisbane over the years is truly staggering.
The common spot that you might resonate are between the shoulder blades this is because the midback is the apex of the curve/hump in our back that we stress when slouching over a keyboard, laptop, iphone, ipad, dinner plate, steering wheel, the list goes on. Because of the stress that we put on our midbacks due to the slouch, the muscles/soft tissue is pulled tight and rears it's head in sharp or dull aches through body, commonly in the shoulders and neck.
The good news is this situation can be IMPROVED immensely, through eduation, tailored treatment plans and a few tips and tricks all situations the pain can be DRAMATICALLY reduced, if not eliminated.
