The KINETIC Method™ begins with a simple premise:
Before we can intelligently change the body, we need to learn how to listen to it.
Every KINETIC session begins with information.
The way you stand.
The way you breathe.
The way you walk.
The way you run.
The way you move.
The way you describe your experience.
The way your body responds to touch.
The tiny changes that happen almost without you noticing.
We collect these signals, connect them, form hypotheses, test them and continually refine our understanding.
Only then do we intervene.
And the goal isn't simply to make something feel better.
The goal is integration — helping the body develop greater stability, mobility, coordination, awareness and choice.

I noticed a significant improvement in my mobility, muscle tension after the session. Calan has an incredible ability to find the source of pain and use the right combination of techniques to achieve lasting results. If you’re looking for someone who is skilled, caring, and genuinely passionate about helping people move and feel better, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.Posted on Google Brett MercerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A very thorough professional analysis of my issues. Explanation on why and the process to help rectify. Left feeling very much improved. Dillian knows his stuff 👍🏻Posted on Google MetzTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Been here second time now with Dillian and my partner goes to see Calan. Both really good therapists delivering proper remedial massages to get results, they know their stuff. Thanks again and see you again soon!Posted on Google Lucas BresslerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Exactly what I needed. Dillian found exactly what was wrong and released my whole body from years of built-up tension. As an athlete, having the right massage therapist makes a huge difference, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, always takes the time to understand what’s going on, and tailors every treatment to what I need. A genuine asset to the team, I couldn’t recommend him morePosted on Google Nicole RTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dillian is all but magician material! Went in with severe, acute neck pain and it’s easily 80% better after just one visit. He gets in there to relieve the issue immediately, sans any of your typical therapists who will often start with the hard sell.Posted on Google Jane UrenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They got me in quickly. Identified and clearly explained my issue & what needed to be done to resolve it. While it was a little painful, I'm a whimp, I felt the benefits immediatelyPosted on Google AngelaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just had an excellent session with Miki. I was in so much pain with a frozen shoulder. She assessed my posture, identified and explained the problem areas she wanted to focus on, then she set to work. She frequently checked to make sure I was okay with the pressure she was applying. I agree with previous reviewers - Miki is knowledgeable and strong, but she is also very kind and considerate. I felt comfortable and relaxed with her. Overall, I felt fortunate to be in her care and I would highly recommend her.Posted on Google Jackie MoorheadTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Kinetic is well located in the CBD. Appointments can be made online, which keeps things simple. I had Miki as my practitioner & she was kind & knowledgeable but strong! Really appreciated her work on my body to get me back on track whilst visiting Brisbane. Highly recommend 🌟Load more
Awareness is where KINETIC begins.
For the client, this might be the first time you notice how differently one side of your body moves.
For the practitioner, it is learning to become intensely present to what is happening in front of you.
We develop awareness of:
posture
breathing
weight distribution
movement
rhythm
tension
facial expression
balance
coordination
behaviour
But awareness isn't simply looking harder.
It's learning what to look for.
We observe the person in movement.
Walking.
Running.
Squatting.
Reaching.
Rotating.
Bending.
Breathing.
Balancing.
Changing position.
We observe range of motion, coordination, asymmetry, rhythm and the strategies the body uses to accomplish a task.
We don't immediately label something as dysfunctional.
We observe first.
Observation precedes interpretation.
KINETIC assessment is not based on one test or one painful structure.
We collect information from multiple dimensions.
The person's history.
Their symptoms.
Their goals.
Their movement.
Their range of motion.
Their strength.
Their coordination.
Their breathing.
Their palpatory findings.
Their responses to specific tests.
Where appropriate, this can include approaches influenced by NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) and other forms of functional muscle testing.
The objective isn't to collect data for its own sake.
It is to gather meaningful information that helps us make better decisions.
A body gives us thousands of pieces of information.
The skill is knowing which ones matter.
This is where KINETIC explores Hyperhuman Sense-Making.
We bring together visual information, touch, movement, language, breathing, behaviour and clinical experience.
We learn to notice the subtle.
The micro-gesture.
The hesitation.
The change in tone.
The altered breath.
The shift in weight.
The moment a movement becomes easier.
These small signals may reveal relationships that aren't obvious from a conventional assessment.
This isn't about mystical intuition.
It's about developing an exceptionally refined human perceptual system.
See more. Feel more. Hear more. Connect more.
Exceptional listening is at the heart of KINETIC.
We listen to what people say.
But we also listen to what their body is saying.
Verbal
Their words, story, language and goals.
Visual
Their posture, movement, expression and micro-gestures.
Kinesthetic
What we perceive through movement and touch.
Physiological
Breathing, rhythm, tone and changes in state.
Relational
How they respond to interaction, touch, challenge and reassurance.
This is what we mean by:
Seeing with the ears. Listening with the eyes.
Great clinical reasoning isn't useful if it cannot be communicated.
KINETIC practitioners learn to translate complex information into language that makes sense.
Not:
"Your left posterior chain is demonstrating a dysfunctional kinetic relationship."
But:
"When you do this movement, your left side is working much harder than your right. Let's see whether we can change that."
The client should understand:
What we're seeing.
Why it might matter.
What we're going to try.
How we'll know whether it helped.
This creates trust, participation and ownership.
Once the information has been collected, we begin looking for patterns.
A tight structure may exist alongside an inhibited structure.
A restricted movement may be associated with another region working harder.
A recurring injury may reflect a repeated movement strategy.
A painful area may be compensating for something happening elsewhere.
KINETIC explores these relationships through anatomy, biomechanics, motor control, neural pathways and functional movement.
Influences include approaches such as NKT, Vladimir Janda's work on muscular imbalance and functional patterns, alongside contemporary understanding of motor control and the nervous system.
But the principle remains simple:
Don't just find what is tight. Find the relationship between what is tight, what is inhibited and what the body is trying to accomplish.
A pattern isn't a diagnosis.
It is a hypothesis.
We ask:
What might be contributing to this?
What happens if we change this?
Does the movement improve?
Does the person's experience change?
Does the tissue respond?
Does another part of the system change?
Then we test.
This creates a fundamental KINETIC loop:
Observe → Collect → Hypothesise → Test → Feedback → Refine
The practitioner isn't trying to prove they were right.
They're trying to discover what is useful.
Once we have a working hypothesis, we can intervene.
KINETIC incorporates highly developed hands-on skills influenced by traditions including:
Myofascial Release
Structural Integration / Rolfing
Deep Tissue
Active Release approaches
Trigger Point Release
Myoskeletal approaches
Fascial work
The work of Ida Rolf
Thomas Myers
Erik Dalton
The objective isn't simply to apply pressure.
We work with the tissue while continually observing the response.
Where is there resistance?
Where is there restriction?
What changes?
What doesn't?
How does the nervous system respond?
What happens to movement afterwards?
The hands don't just deliver treatment. They collect information.
This is where KINETIC moves beyond passive bodywork.
If one structure has become dominant and another has become inhibited, releasing the dominant structure may only be part of the solution.
The system may also need to learn how to use the previously under-contributing structure.
This is where hands-on work meets activation, stability and movement training.
Influenced by functional movement approaches, including the work of Functional Patterns, we explore how the body can reconnect movement through integrated patterns rather than isolated exercises.
Release what needs releasing.
Activate what needs activating.
Connect what has become disconnected.
Then teach the body how to use it.
A healthy movement system needs both.
Stability allows us to control force.
Mobility allows us to express movement.
Too little stability can create instability.
Too little mobility can create restriction.
Too much of either can reduce adaptability.
The goal isn't maximum flexibility or maximum strength.
It is appropriate adaptability.
We use movement, activation and stability exercises to help the person explore new ways of moving.
The body isn't simply being corrected.
It is being given more options.
Change becomes meaningful when the person can experience it themselves.
Can you feel the difference?
Can you reproduce the movement?
Can you recognise the old pattern?
Can you find the new option?
Can you understand what influences your symptoms?
This is where embodiment and awareness become central.
The practitioner provides information and guidance.
The client develops the ability to recognise and influence their own body.
The goal is not dependence.
The goal is agency.
The ultimate objective isn't:
A loose muscle.
A stronger muscle.
A better posture.
A pain-free movement.
These can all be useful outcomes.
But they are only pieces.
KINETIC seeks integration between:
Structure and movement.
Mobility and stability.
Strength and coordination.
Brain and body.
Sensation and awareness.
Breathing and movement.
Treatment and exercise.
Practitioner and client.
Understanding and action.
The goal is to help the person move towards their innate capacity to sense, adapt, stabilise, move and express themselves.
The entire method can ultimately be reduced to a simple cycle:
Notice what is happening.
Watch how the system moves.
Gather meaningful information.
Connect the information.
Ask what might be contributing.
Use touch, movement and communication.
Observe what changes.
Reconnect the system.
Give the person greater capacity and choice. Then begin again. Because the body is never static.
A way of seeing.
A way of listening.
A way of thinking.
A way of touching.
A way of moving.
A way of communicating.
A way of learning.
And ultimately:
A way of understanding human beings.
The techniques may change.
The research will continue to evolve.
Our understanding will deepen.
But the principles remain:
Develop awareness.
Observe deeply.
Collect meaningful information.
Make sense of complexity.
Listen in multiple dimensions.
Communicate with clarity.
Recognise patterns.
Form intelligent hypotheses.
Influence with precision.
Activate and reconnect.
Integrate the whole.
Give the body more options.
Empower the person.
Keep learning.
This is Clinical Intelligence.
This is the KINETIC Method™.
